Surfer's Paradise to Sunshine Beach

On the way to Sunshine Beach we pulled off and Joel hiked up Wildhorse Hill to find an awesome view at the observation tower at the top.  Once into Sunshine Beach, on the night of Sunday, October 1st, we checked into Melaluka Suites.  It wasn't a sweet or a suite -- it sucked.  But, what are you going to do. That's life on the road.

There was actually one cool thing about the hostel.  On the wall in the common room was the exact map ,we mean the exact, map that hung over the wall in our bedroom back in Arlington (Boston).  We layed on the bed under that map, guidebooks from all over the world scatterred about the bed, deciding were we wanted to go.  Staring into that map at the hostel was almost like looking through a Magic Mirror or a sorcerous Looking Glass.  For a instant it was as if that map was a portal back to Boston, back to that very moment when we laid there dreaming of traveling the world.  Know we were there.  We were doing it.  We were actually making it happen.   Cool stuff.

Sunshine Beach is a really nice beach and Joel tried his hand at body boarding.

Nearby Noosa Heads was really nice.  At low tide, in the main bay, the current will take you all the way around a bend.  Then you get out (maybe stop at the ice cream truck for a cone) walk back to where you started and do it again.

Monday, October 2nd, we got up and headed towards Boreen Point.
