The ankh is the Egyptian symbol of life
The Nepali craftsman who hand made this golden medallian had no idea what an ankh was.  Joel had to draw a design for the craftsman to work from.  Joel wore an ankh under his jersey in many of his college football games and athletics meets he competed in.  Many of the American soldiers wore an onk symbol into battle in Vietnam.  They believed, as many ancient Egyptian soldiers did, that the special powers of the ankh would keep you alive.  We had two made, one for Joel and one for one of you.
